The Ultimate Seoul Travel Guide

Discover centuries of history nestled against a backdrop of modern innovation, experience the energy of its people, and let the city’s rhythm absorb you. Here’s my ultimate Seoul travel guide.

Hyundai Premium Outlet

My first spring day in Korea started at Hyundai Premium Outlets, where I kicked things off with a soul-warming bowl of dak kalguksu (Korean chicken noodle soup). Imagine wide, hand-cut noodles, with a tender piece of chicken thigh and generous amount of vegetables in a rich, savory chicken broth. Each spoonful was a warm hug, the broth infused with the comforting flavors of slow-cooked chicken and the satisfying chew of the perfectly textured noodles. It was the ideal, fortifying start to a day of walking, and I instantly understood why this dish is a beloved Korean comfort food!

Before exploring the shops, I grabbed a cup of coffee and some Auntie Anne’s pretzel sticks, tucking them into my coat pockets to stay warm while I lose all my senses window shopping. Though I wasn’t in a rush to shop, a beautiful pair of Dr. Martens on sale for under ₩30,000 proved too tempting, making it a great start to the day.

Travel Tips

  • Come Hungry! –

Triple Street

From Hyundai Outlet, I hopped my way to Triple Street —one of Songdo’s trendiest shopping and entertainment districts. The energy was contagious. Stylish storefronts lined the walkways, each inviting me in. People lounged in open-air seating areas, chatting over coffee, while others meandered around, soaking in the electric atmosphere.

I wasn’t here for a shopping spree, but it didn’t matter—just walking about Triple Street is enough to boost your energy. Whether you’re indulging in some retail therapy, watching the world go by, or simply taking in the pulse of the city, this spot offers a perfect blend of excitement and urban charm.

Songdo Central Park

Leaving the vibrant energy of Triple Street, I set off for the tranquil beauty of Songdo Central Park. Though the walk was lengthy, I was captivated by the city’s unique atmosphere and modern charm, that it felt effortless. The cherry blossom-lined paths of Central Park were a refreshing sight, and watching the pedal boats drift along the waterway as I walked through the park brings a sense of serenity. The park’s array of spring blooms was a vibrant reminder of spring’s beauty.

NC Cube Canal Walk

After Central Park, I made my way to NC Cube Canal Walk, a shopping strip that immediately caught my eye with its European-inspired architecture and the tranquil canal winding through it. What really made it stand out, though, was how it was split into four sections, each designed to reflect a different season. As the sun began to set, I just couldn’t help but appreciate the beauty of the uniquely designed spaces bathed in the golden hour. It was the perfect, chill way to wind down after a day of exploring.

Fiery Samgyupsal Finale

The grand finale of our Songdo spring day was a memorable samgyupsal dinner. We found a place where they put on a mini fire show while grilling the meat at our table, a sizzling spectacle that added an exciting twist to an already mouthwatering meal. The thick, juicy slices of pork belly, cooked to perfection and paired with ssamjang, garlic, and fresh lettuce wraps, were divine. I paired my samgyupsal with a glass of makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine, making it a refreshing way to conclude a day of walking and exploring.
